The I SPY Fantasy AutoPlay start-up screen does not appear when the I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM is placed in your computer's CD-ROM drive.

AutoPlay is not enabled on your computer.

Double-click the My Computer icon on your computer's desktop. Right-click the I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM icon in the My Computer window.  Select Open from the pop-up menu.  Double-click the AutoRun application to start I SPY Fantasy.

The I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM cannot be seen from Windows Explorer.

The CD-ROM drivers are not installed properly. (Other CD-ROMs also cannot be seen from Windows Explorer.)
The I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM is scratched or dirty
Open the Add New Hardware control panel and follow the instructions.
Make sure that the I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM surface is free of all fingerprints and is not scratched.

I SPY Fantasy is running slowly on your computer.

Other programs are running.

Quit any other programs running on your computer and re-launch I SPY Fantasy.

You see the message "An attempt to reset your monitor settings to high color (16-bit) has failed."

I SPY Fantasy requires that your monitor settings be set to High Color (16-bit).  An attempt was made to reset the color depth of your monitor and failed.  Some computers require that these settings be changed manually.

Open the Display control panel. Select the Settings tab and change the color palette to High Color (16-bit).

On opening the Display control panel and choosing the Settings tab, High Color (16-bit) is not an option under the palette menu.

On some computers, problems in the video driver software may prevent your monitor from resetting to High Color (16-bit).

Contact your computer manufacturer for instructions on getting updated video drivers.

You see the message "An attempt to reset your monitor resolution settings to 640x480 has failed." 

I SPY Fantasy requires that your monitor resolution settings be set to 640x480.  An attempt was made to reset the color depth of your monitor and failed.  Some computers require that these settings be changed manually.

Open the Display control panel. Select the Settings tab and change the screen area setting to 640x480.

Audio is not functioning within I SPY Fantasy.

The speaker volume or system volume is turned all the way down.

Check your speaker volume control as well as the Windows system volume control.

When launching I SPY Fantasy, the message "No sound drivers found" appears and sound does not play.

Another application is running which is using the sound channel of your computer.

Your computer is missing a component required for audio playback.
Quit all applications on your computer and restart I SPY Fantasy. Use the Alt + Tab keys to cycle through open applications and shut down.

Double-click the dxsetup.exe file in the DirectX8 directory on the I SPY Fantasy CD. Proceed through the installation of DirectX.

Audio still does not function correctly within I SPY Fantasy after trying all of the steps above.

On some computers, problems in the audio driver software may prevent I SPY Fantasy from playing sound correctly.

Contact your computer manufacturer for instructions on getting updated audio drivers.

The installation of I SPY Fantasy quits or I SPY Fantasy fails during the installation.

You are logged onto your computer without administrative rights.
Your computer does not have enough free disk space to install I SPY Fantasy.
Log onto your computer as a user with administrative rights and re-install I SPY Fantasy. (Administrative rights allow users read and write access to their computers.) 
Verify that you have at least 20 MB of free disk space on the computer drive you are using to install I SPY Fantasy.

Macintosh

The I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM cannot be seen when inserted into your Macintosh.

The I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM is scratched or dirty.

Make sure that the I SPY Fantasy CD-ROM surface is free of all fingerprints and is not scratched.

You see this message: "There is not enough memory to open I SPY Fantasy."

Other applications are running.
For Mac Operating Systems 8.6 - 9.2, Virtual Memory may be off.
Quit any other running applications and re-launch I SPY Fantasy.
In Operating Systems 8.6 - 9.2, turn on Virtual Memory using the Memory control panel. Increase the amount of Virtual Memory used by your computer and restart your Macintosh.

I SPY Fantasy is running slowly.

Other programs are running.
For Mac Operating Systems 8.6 - 9.2, Virtual Memory may be off.
For Mac Operating Systems 8.6 - 9.2, File Sharing is on.
Quit any other running applications and re-launch I SPY Fantasy.
In Operating Systems 8.6 - 9.2, turn on Virtual Memory using the Memory control panel. Increase the amount of Virtual Memory used by your computer and restart your Macintosh.
In Mac Operating Systems 8.6 - 9.2, open the File Sharing Setup control panel and turn off File Sharing.

The installation of I SPY Fantasy quits or I SPY Fantasy fails during the installation.

You are logged onto your computer without administrative rights.
